Jim's Secret Chilli Recipe

There’s nothing like a hot bowl of chilli. It’s a real family favourite, and almost as much fun to make as it is to eat. Here’s a short video of me in the kitchen making a batch from my secret recipe. Take a look and give it a try. I think you’ll like it!

Ingredients

  • 2 lb / 900g beef mince
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1/2 bell pepper
  • 1 carrot blended
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tins of dark kidney beans
  • 1 tin of tomatoes
  • 1 tin of tomato sauce / passata
  • 2 cups / 500ml of beef stock
  • 3 tbsp / 45g chilli powder
  • 1 tsp / 5g cumin
  • 1 tsp / 5g fresh chopped basil
  • 1 tsp / 5g fresh chopped parsley
  • 1 tsp / 5g coarse black pepper
  • 1 tsp / 5g brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp / 15g cider vinegar or red wine vinegar
