A peek at Jim's new museum

May 28, 2026

Here’s a behind-the-scenes peek at a project that has me truly excited — the new Museum we’re creating near my home in Rock Hill, South Carolina. This beautiful 22,000-square-foot building has quite a history of its own. Originally built in 1914 and expanded over the years, it already has so much character, and now it’s getting a whole new life.

Our vision is to turn this space into an interactive museum centred around my art, but that’s just the beginning. We’re also planning a gift shop, quilt shop, gallery space featuring the work of local artists, and a few other surprises along the way. I want this to be a place that feels welcoming, creative, and full of inspiration for everyone who visits.

As you’ll see in the video, it’s definitely still a work in progress — lots of dust, projects, and unfinished corners! But that’s part of the fun, and it’s exciting to watch it all start coming together.

Now I’d love your input. What would you enjoy seeing or experiencing when you visit? Special displays, hands-on activities, themed rooms, classes, or something unexpected? Please share your ideas — I’m listening!
