Happy St. Patrick's Day!
I love Ireland. These days it’s become something of a second home to me. It started with a short visit with friends about twenty years ago. I had no idea then that those few days would turn into annual pilgrimages that I wish would last a little bit longer each time.
There are a lot of reasons for that. First, Ireland is scenic like nowhere else on earth. Everywhere you look there’s a view that makes you stop and take a breath, from rolling green hills and dramatic coastlines to quiet little villages that seem almost painted into existence. But that’s only the beginning. The country is steeped in culture and tradition, with a rich history marked by struggle and triumph against all odds. You can feel it in the music, the architecture, even in the quiet of the countryside.
And probably most important of all—the people. The dear friends I’ve met there and the lasting relationships we’ve built are forever close to my heart.
And Jan loves it even more than I do! We’re there every New Year, right after Christmas with the family. For me, it’s a time to unwind and decompress after the rigors of the holidays. But that doesn’t mean I stop working—especially in a place that inspires me so much. Some of my favourite pieces were created there, including my collection of Saint Patrick's Day designs. From gnomes and leprechauns to shamrocks, with Santa and Snoopy and Winnie the Pooh… they’re all decorated with symbols of the Emerald Isle—Celtic knots, Claddagh symbols, shamrocks, and Irish Chain quilt patterns.
Take a look and let me know what you think. In the meantime—Beannachtaí na Féile Pádraig oraibh. Or as we say in English, Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
