Jim's Secret Chilli Recipe
There’s nothing like a hot bowl of chilli. It’s a real family favourite, and almost as much fun to make as it is to eat. Here’s a short video of me in the kitchen making a batch from my secret recipe. Take a look and give it a try. I think you’ll like it!
Ingredients
- 2 lb / 900g beef mince
- 1 chopped onion
- 1/2 bell pepper
- 1 carrot blended
- 5 cloves of garlic
- 2 tins of dark kidney beans
- 1 tin of tomatoes
- 1 tin of tomato sauce / passata
- 2 cups / 500ml of beef stock
- 3 tbsp / 45g chilli powder
- 1 tsp / 5g cumin
- 1 tsp / 5g fresh chopped basil
- 1 tsp / 5g fresh chopped parsley
- 1 tsp / 5g coarse black pepper
- 1 tsp / 5g brown sugar
- 1 tbsp / 15g cider vinegar or red wine vinegar
